Another enlightening read! I’m not particularly a football fan, but my husband and son are so I’m familiar with the NFL. Now we understand that the propaganda from the 60s to get us totally engaged with celebrity worship spread to sports as well as the movie/music world. In latter years this expanded to talking news heads and the political elites. What an excellent comparison and you’re absolutely correct that we must get this right. The US and the world are at stake. Feudalism or individual liberty. We must not fail!
Thank you for sharing your unique gifts, and God bless you.🙏
Yes, the culture has definitely softened over time and as a result has led to a very "vanilla" and "surface level" form of intellectual laziness.
This is why there has been a lot of misplaced hype given to a lot of people in our communities and across the political arena that never deserved such credit.
As a result of this we are now seeing the damage it has caused to our country and to the rest of the world for that matter.
I wanted to use the NFL as an example to highlight this sort of problem as sort of a thermometer that represents the rest of our society.
Thank you again for your support. I hope things message gets through to many others.
Brandon, thoroughly enjoyed your article. I agree with your arguments. I was flabbergasted by the insane culture in my last two corporate jobs to a point where I went in the opposite direction for work, and had to settle for a much lower salary in the 12 years leading to retirement. I thank God my kids got through High School before pre-woke (so to speak) teachers and administrators took over the educational systems. Let's not even talk about the entertainment business. Can't wait for P. Diddy and Hollywood to go down for their crimes. Also, just so happens I landed in the Bay Area at the same time Bill Walsh and Joe Montana took over the SF 49ers, and Joe M was a real hero for me. To your point, Ronnie Lott was my favorite defender. He was a bit of a headhunter like Deacon Jones. That's how the game was played in those days. I am fully disgusted with the intellectual laziness I see in our governments. Plenty of sound bites and no intention to help The People. Congress is sold out to the military-industrial-complex. Our tax contributions are laundered around and go back to elites to buy luxuries. Thank God for Trump. Unfortunately, I think the "accidents," recent flight crashes and New Years car crashes, along with direct energy fires in Maui and LA are the harbingers of civil war. Keep safe
Hey James thank you for your informative response.
Yes, there have been a lot of moving parts to our society moving us in the wrong direction for a long time now and it was my intention to communicate that using the cultural example of the NFL as a way to illustrate that.
Thanks to your response I believe I succeeded in that.
You're 100% correct about the problems we're facing. I always remember the power in the late Andrew Breitbart's quote where he said "Politics is downstream from culture."
That cuts directly to the heart of all of this and is the motivation behind me starting this Substack in the first place.
Having strong Patriots and hammers like yourself to support and offer this level of feedback make every second of it worth it.
Went back and edited my post, corrected a number of errors to make it clearer. Hey, I've read a few of your posts now, and like what you're putting out!
Fantastic. Thank you again for chiming in. I'm starting the process for my next episode and would be interested in hearing your feedback on future episodes. 🇺🇸
I find the growth of homelessness to be a sad reflection and result of Democrats running government. It is simply obvious in CA cities which have become wastelands while Newsom has been in office. Same in so many cities around the country!
At this point the evidence of Democrat run states and cities always leads to complete ruin.
We've seen this in California, NY, Detroit, Chicago, etc.
It's reached the breaking point which means we MUST purge society of the ideas, or more specifically the ongoing grift, of how these people are perpetually able to return to office time and time again.
I believe we are living in that very important moment in history right now.
